Since 1999
Honoring our father’s restaurant name in our native country of Lebanon, we opened The Rock in December 1999 on Dale Street in Normal with the goal of bringing a little taste of the Mediterranean to Normal. We started by introducing gyros, falafel and garlic chicken to our menu along with American favorites.
We enjoyed almost eleven years at our Dale Street location as part of the ISU community. Year after year the Rock evolved and improved with the introduction of a “Super Menu” and more Mediterranean items.
The goal has always remained to service quality food with friendly environment to every customer at a good value. The Rock has become a landmark for students at Illinois State and for Bloomington – Normal locals. The Rock relocated in May 2011 on North Street in the center of Uptown Normal after closure of the Dale St. location.
More Mediterranean items like hummus, grape leaves, spinach pie, and baba ghannoush were added to the menu along with delicious desserts. The Rock has also extended into catering services providing local events with delicious Mediterranean and American cuisine. As of December 2014 we have expanded our dining area due to high volume of customers. This has accommodated their needs and created a more comfortable environment for one to enjoy dining.
